You Must Read "Dietary Goals of the United States"
Prepared by the staff of the
SELECT COMMITTEE ON NUTRITION AND HUMAN NEEDS UNITED STATES SENATE
95th Congress, 1st Session, February 1977
(I bet you didn't even know that we had dietary goals!)
This extensive hard hitting U S Senate document was buried after howls of protest
by the American "food manufacturers".
(What a concept -- "food manufacturing" ---
in case you didn't know, real food grows!)
This extensive study found that:
"The major health problems in the US are diet related." --
"Most all of the health problems underlying the leading causes of death in the United States
could be modified by improvements in diet."
Dr. C. Edith Weir, Assistant Director, Human Nutrition Research Division,
Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture
Instead we choose a diet of Twinkies, hamburgers, hot dogs, pizzas, soda, potato chips,
donuts and other foods chosen to provide our taste buds with a circus atmosphere.
Food advertising stresses qualities of taste, color, crispness, fun etc. Nutritional Value
is never mentioned. The current nutritional labeling is woefully lacking in relevant information.
A 15 page excerpt of the choicest parts of:
Dietary Goals of the United States
can be Seen Here
We may be the best fed country in the world on the scale of quantity
but we are among the worst on the scale of quality!
Modern medicine is like a group of ambulances gathered at the bottom of a cliff picking
up the battered bodies of those who fall. It would be simpler to go to the top of the cliff and
repair fences.
Treating the symptoms of malnutrition with drugs,
surgery or radiation will always yield less than satisfactory results!
Health must start with the soil
in which food is grown.
Read what happens to food grown in deficient soils (most American Fruits and vegetables) are grown this way!
"Ecologist Gene Logsdon wrote, "The fall of almost every civilization is largely on account of raping
natural resources until all the easy profit goes out of them." By the 1930s, most of the "cream"
had been skimmed off of American soils, and diminished crops of mineral-deficient vegetables, fruits and
grains began to appear. Interesingly, chronic, degenerative diseases began to escalate at this time as
wellarthritis, diabetes, cancer, lupus, osteoporosis, and dental caries."
Quoted from Empty Harvest by Dr. Bernard Jenssen & Mark Anderson.
You will find it on page two of the book list!
