Marketing food to Americans is about creating curiosity and cravings and not about nutrition at all.Most human "nutritional research" is on how to make a product irresistible and sell as much of it as possible. The nutritional information on the package is largely irrelevant and is designed to fool us on serving size. So we go on blithely consuming far more calories than we think we are.
The supermarket is a jungle with various products competing viciously for our dollars.
We do not see this fight going on but in a sense we are victims, just the same.
